Wasco Energy’s Pipe Coating Division has been recently awarded a line pipe coating contract with a value of over US$15 million from ILVA S.p.A for the PTT Offshore Gas Spur Lines Project.
This contract involves the coating of 48 km of 28” and 39 km of 24” with a three-layer polyethylene anti-corrosion coating, internal flow coating and concrete weight coating. Work will be undertaken at Wasco’s coating plant in Kuantan, Malaysia, and is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2010.
Sacrificial aluminum anodes associated with this project will be supplied by Wasco Energy subsidiary, Material Performance Engineering Sdn Bhd.
The PTT Offshore Gas Spur Lines Project is a project involves the expansion and installation of a natural gas transmission pipeline system from offshore suppliers to PTT’s Third Transmission Pipeline, which was also coated by Wasco Energy. Offshore supply points are Chevron Thailand’s Platong Field and PTT Exploration and Production’s Greater Bongkot South (GBS) Development.
